Mark Robins has officially taken over as the manager of Stoke City, replacing Narcis Pelach on January 1.

In a significant development, Robins has signed a new three-and-a-half year contract with the Championship club, reflecting his successful management since joining. At the age of 55, Robins has not only ensured the Potters’ survival in the second tier last season but has also positioned the team as serious contenders for promotion to the Premier League.

Currently, under Robins’ stewardship, Stoke City sits third in the Championship, just two points away from the automatic promotion spots after 15 matches played. Although the Potters were in second place prior to the recent international break, they faced a setback, losing 1-0 to Coventry City, Robins’ former club, now managed by Frank Lampard.

Robins’ coaching staff, including Paul Nevin, James Rowberry, Ryan Shawcross, and Darren Behcet, have also secured new contracts with the club.

“It is evident, even in this short time, that Mark is the right fit for Stoke City as our manager,” stated Potters chairman John Coates. “The progress we have made on the field is extremely promising. Our players are responding incredibly well to the coaching team, and it has been heartening to see our dedicated supporters rally even more in the past year.”

Robins expressed his pride in leading the club, emphasizing his commitment to fostering a successful future for Stoke City. “I am hugely proud to be in charge and fully dedicated to the long-term task ahead. We are aware that this journey entails both challenges and rewarding moments, but we are committed to seeing it through for the long haul,” he added.
