Mark Robins has officially taken the helm as Stoke City manager, succeeding Narcis Pelach on January 1.

At 55 years old, Robins has signed a new three-and-a-half year contract with the Championship club, reflecting the management’s confidence in his leadership. Having successfully guided the Potters to safety in the second tier last season, he has now revitalized the team, making them formidable contenders for promotion back to the Premier League this season.

Under Robins’ guidance, Stoke currently sits in third place in the Championship, just two points shy of the automatic promotion spots after 15 matches. The Potters had briefly secured second place before the recent international break but faced a setback when they were narrowly defeated 1-0 by Coventry City, Robins’ former club now managed by Frank Lampard.

All members of Robins’ coaching staff, including Paul Nevin, James Rowberry, Ryan Shawcross, and Darren Behcet, have also committed to new contracts with the club.

Chairman John Coates expressed his satisfaction with Robins’ leadership, stating, “It has been clear during his short time with the club that Mark is the right fit as manager of Stoke City. The progress we have made on the field has been extremely encouraging. Our players are responding excellently to our coaching team, and it has been a pleasure to see our brilliant supporters rally behind the club throughout the past year.”

Robins expressed his pride in leading the club, emphasizing his commitment to a long-term vision for success: “I am hugely proud to be in charge and am fully committed to the long-term process of bringing a successful future to this club. We know it will take time and that there will be both challenging and enjoyable moments along the way, but we are in it for the long haul.”
