Real Betis is nearing the milestone of fielding a fully healthy squad for the first time this season. Following the return of Isco Alarcón, who had been sidelined for over three months due to a fractured fibula, and with Junior Firpo and Ricardo Rodríguez ready for action after being included in the squad for the match against Girona, the only player currently unavailable is Pau López, who is dealing with gastroenteritis.

López sustained an injury during the warm-up before a Liga match against Mallorca in early November. Medical examinations revealed a rupture of the tendon of the flexor muscle in his right leg. Since then, he has been absent from team training, focusing instead on rehabilitation at the club’s facilities alongside reconditioning specialists and physiotherapists.

On Monday, Real Betis released images of Pau López training individually on the pitch at the Ciudad Deportiva Luis del Sol. The club accompanied the photographs with an encouraging message: “Back on the pitch to continue his recovery. Go, Pau!” Coach Manuel Pellegrini acknowledges that he will not have the goalkeeper available for the upcoming Europa League match against Utrecht this Thursday, nor for the derby on Sunday. Nevertheless, López is intensifying his recovery efforts in hopes of rejoining the squad by early December, a month that promises a busy schedule for the team.
