Marcos Llorente Faces Injury Setback, Missing Upcoming Matches

As feared, Marcos Llorente has sustained an injury that will prevent him from participating in at least the upcoming matches against Inter Milan this Wednesday and Oviedo this Saturday in LaLiga. This has been confirmed following an MRI conducted on Monday morning.

This unfortunate news had been anticipated since Llorente requested to be substituted early during the match against Getafe after experiencing a sharp pain in his hamstrings. Although he continued to sprint during subsequent plays before being replaced, the initial signs were not promising.

It was only after medical testing confirmed the severity of the injury that Atlético Madrid realized they would be without one of coach Simeone’s key players for the near future. For now, he will miss the two matches hosted at the Metropolitano this week.

In addition to being sidelined for the games against Inter and Oviedo, there is skepticism within Atlético regarding the potential for further missed matches. Indeed, depending on his recovery, Llorente may also be unavailable for upcoming fixtures, particularly the critical encounter against Barcelona on December 2.
