omidbasir- Pep Guardiola has publicly acknowledged his feelings of “embarrassment and shame” following his altercation with a television cameraman after Manchester City’s recent defeat to Newcastle United on Saturday.

The incident occurred on the pitch at St James’ Park, where Guardiola appeared to engage in a heated confrontation with the cameraman. Additionally, he was seen in animated discussions with referee Samuel Barrott and Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimarães after the team’s 2-1 loss.

During a news conference on Monday, Guardiola was asked specifically about his comments to the cameraman and confirmed that he had apologized for his actions. “I feel embarrassed, ashamed when I see it,” he stated. “I don’t like it. I apologized immediately to the cameraman. I am who I am. After 1,000 games, I’m not a perfect person; I make huge mistakes. It’s not about that. What is for sure is that I will defend my team and my club, without question.”

In a tense press briefing ahead of the upcoming Champions League match against Bayer Leverkusen at the Etihad Stadium, Guardiola also made a subtle reference to the agent of Claudio Echeverri. The young Argentinian player is currently on loan at Leverkusen but has had limited playing time since his transfer to the Bundesliga.

City had preferred for Echeverri to join Girona, a club affiliated with the City Football Group, and Guardiola expressed his dissatisfaction with the player’s current situation in Germany. “I would always prefer that players get ample playing minutes, and that is our intention,” Guardiola remarked regarding Echeverri’s circumstances. “We have immense appreciation for him as a footballer. I am confident that his agent is aware of everything happening.”

When asked if Echeverri might return to City in January, Guardiola humorously replied, “That is a question for his beautiful agent.”
