DFB Sports Court Issues Suspension to Dominik KohrDFB Sports Court Issues Suspension to Dominik Kohr

omidbasir- The DFB sports court delivered its anticipated verdict regarding FSV Mainz 05 midfielder Dominik Kohr late on Monday evening. The player, known for holding the Bundesliga record for the most ejections, will face a suspension of three league matches and a fine of €15,000 due to his aggressive foul on Hoffenheim’s Max Moerstedt during a match last Friday.

Kohr was at risk of an even steeper penalty after a widely acknowledged reckless challenge that warranted a straight red card. A potential four-match suspension would have effectively concluded Kohr’s participation in league play for the remainder of the 2025 calendar year. However, under the current ruling, he will be eligible to return for Mainz’s final league encounter against St. Pauli on December 21st.

Additionally, Kohr remains available for head coach Bo Henriksen in Mainz’s upcoming Conference League fixtures. Notably, Mainz has successfully secured victories in all three of their matches in the Conference League so far.

In the Bundesliga, however, Henriksen’s squad finds itself in the automatic relegation zone, having achieved only one win and three draws across 11 matchdays.
