DFB Sports Court Issues Ruling on Dominik Kohr s SuspensionDFB Sports Court Issues Ruling on Dominik Kohr s Suspension

omidbasir- The DFB sports court delivered its anticipated verdict regarding FSV Mainz 05 midfielder Dominik Kohr on Monday evening. The Bundesliga record holder for the most expulsions will face a suspension of three league matches and a fine of €15,000 for his aggressive foul on Hoffenheim’s Max Moerstedt last Friday.

Kohr was initially at risk of receiving a more severe penalty following what was widely deemed a reckless challenge that warranted a straight red card. A four-match ban would have concluded Kohr’s league participation for the 2025 calendar year. As it stands, he will be eligible to play in Mainz’s final league match against St. Pauli on December 21st.

Despite this suspension, Kohr will still be available for head coach Bo Henriksen in Mainz’s upcoming Conference League fixtures, where the team has impressively won all three matches so far. However, Mainz’s performance in the league presents a more pressing concern, as Henriksen’s squad currently resides in the automatic relegation zone with only one win and three draws after 11 matchdays.
