Guardiola Expresses Regret for Confrontation Post Newcastle DefeatGuardiola Expresses Regret for Confrontation Post Newcastle Defeat

omidbasir- Pep Guardiola has openly expressed feelings of “embarrassment and shame” following his interaction with a television cameraman after Manchester City’s defeat to Newcastle United on Saturday.

The incident involved what appeared to be an intense confrontation with the cameraman on the pitch at St James’ Park. Additionally, Guardiola was seen engaged in animated discussions with referee Samuel Barrott and Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimarães after the match ended 2-1 in favor of Newcastle.

During a press conference on Monday, Guardiola addressed the situation. He confirmed that he had apologized to the cameraman shortly after the incident occurred. “I feel embarrassed, ashamed when I see it,” Guardiola stated. “I don’t like it. I apologized after one second to the cameraman. I am who I am. After 1,000 games, I’m not a perfect person; I make huge mistakes. It’s not about that. What is for sure is that I defend my team and my club, that’s for sure. The reason why is I want to defend my team and my club.”

In a tense press briefing ahead of Bayer Leverkusen’s visit to the Etihad Stadium for a Champions League match on Tuesday, Guardiola also made a subtle remark regarding Claudio Echeverri’s agent. The young Argentinian is currently on loan from City to Leverkusen, where he has faced challenges in securing playing time since his move to the Bundesliga.

Guardiola acknowledged that City would have preferred Echeverri to join Girona, a club within the City Football Group, and hinted at his dissatisfaction with the player’s current situation in Germany. “Always, I would love that players play a lot of minutes; the intention is always there,” Guardiola commented when asked about Echeverri’s circumstances. “We have an incredible appreciation for him as a football player. I am sure, pretty sure, his agent will know everything.”

When questioned about the possibility of Echeverri returning to City in January, Guardiola replied, “That is a question for his beautiful agent.”
