The 33-year-old, who has spent the majority of his career in lower league German clubs, continues to demonstrate remarkable resilience and skill for Hamburger SV.

Having played a pivotal role in HSV’s promotion last season, Heuer Fernandes successfully maintained his position despite facing competition from high-profile newcomer Daniel Peretz during the training camp.

In 11 league appearances, the Bochum-native ranks as the second most effective shot-stopper in the league, trailing only St. Pauli’s Nikola Vasilj.
