Estevao Shines in Chelsea s Dominant Victory Against BarcelonaEstevao Shines in Chelsea s Dominant Victory Against Barcelona

Estevao spoke to Amazon Prime at full-time following Chelsea’s impressive victory over Barcelona, where the Blues displayed dominance from the initial whistle to the final call.

The scoring was initiated by a scrappy own-goal from Jules Kounde in the first half, but it was Estevao’s second-half strike that cemented Chelsea’s lead. Skillfully maneuvering past defenders Pau Cubarsi and Alejandro Balde, Estevao struck the ball into the roof of the net, a goal that epitomized Chelsea’s superiority in the match.

With five goals for his new club, Estevao has become the second youngest player in history to score in his first three Champions League starts, trailing only Kylian Mbappe. Alongside Erling Haaland, they are the only three players to achieve this milestone before turning 20.

His goal on Tuesday echoed a similar strike he made against Chelsea while with Palmeiras in the Club World Cup, further showcasing his potential as he continues to improve in his new environment.

Estevao expressed his elation to Amazon Prime, stating, “I don’t really have any words to sum up how I’m feeling right now. It really was the perfect night. I’m just grateful to God for everything that has happened for me. Onwards and upwards from here.”

Regarding his goal, he remarked, “It all happened very quickly for me, it sort of happened before I knew it. I just found some space, wiggled my way through, and then scored that goal. It was such a special moment for me in my career. I hope to score many more.”

He further added, “It was definitely the best moment of my career so far. I want to score many more for many years. I’m so grateful that my family was here watching me.”

Estevao also acknowledged the connection he feels with the fans, stating, “From the moment I arrived here, I felt such a connection with the fans. I’m just so happy that I could score for them and make them happy. I hope to keep making them happy and score more goals for them.”

In the lead-up to the match, comparisons between Estevao and fellow young talent Lamine Yamal had gained traction among fans. However, on the night, Estevao clearly outshone Yamal, who struggled to make an impact against Marc Cucurella.

Maresca, addressing Estevao’s rising stardom, emphasized the importance of remaining grounded. “Estevao is already playing at a high level and is starting games for Brazil,” he noted. “He is very young and can certainly improve, but we are very happy with him. It’s delightful for football lovers to witness talents like Estevao, Lamine Yamal, and Pedri. We are glad Estevao is with us.”

Maresca added, “Estevao will undoubtedly be an important player for this club in the future. The key is for him to enjoy his football and not to compare himself to others.”

Since joining Stamford Bridge, Estevao’s profile has surged, and his impactful performance against Barcelona has placed him on an even larger platform. While he has a way to go to match Yamal’s extraordinary early career trajectory, Estevao is firmly on his path to becoming one of the foremost young talents in global football.

Looking ahead, he is poised to play a significant role for Brazil in the upcoming World Cup hosted by the US, Canada, and Mexico next summer, having netted five goals in 11 international appearances, including two in the latest international break. The former Palmeiras star’s journey has only just begun.
