According to BBC News, Doyle was seen weeping as he changed his pleas on the second day of his trial at Liverpool Crown Court. The charges involve 29 individuals, ranging from six months to 77 years old, who were present during his attack on the parade in Liverpool city center on May 26.

Recorder of Liverpool, Andrew Menary KC, informed Doyle that it was “inevitable” he would receive a custodial sentence of “some length.” A date for sentencing has been scheduled for December 15 at the same court.
