Reflecting on his family history, Van Gaal noted, “My father passed away when I was eleven, at the age of 53. My mother lived to 83. So, I likely take after my mother, and I hope to follow in her footsteps.” At 74, he acknowledges the physical changes that come with aging, stating, “I am experiencing increased stiffness in my muscles and tend to feel fatigued more easily.”
