Kylian Mbapp Sets Record with Lightning Fast Hat Trick for Real MadridKylian Mbapp Sets Record with Lightning Fast Hat Trick for Real Madrid

Kylian Mbappé, the star forward for Real Madrid, made headlines on Wednesday by recording the second-fastest hat trick in Champions League history, scoring three goals in just 6 minutes and 42 seconds against Olympiacos.

Mbappé’s remarkable achievement trails only Mohamed Salah of Liverpool, who set the record with a hat trick in 6 minutes and 12 seconds against Rangers in October 2022.

The match began with Real Madrid trailing 1-0, but Mbappé took command of the game with a stunning performance. He equalized in the 22nd minute, deftly finishing from the edge of the penalty area after a one-on-one opportunity with the goalkeeper. Just two minutes later, he scored again, powerfully heading in a cross from Arda Güler.

In a swift continuation of his dominance, Mbappé netted his third goal shortly thereafter, capitalizing on a well-placed ball from Eduardo Camavinga and finishing with ease.

Not satisfied with his first-half hat trick, Mbappé added a fourth goal in the 59th minute, further cementing his impact on the match.

This latest hat trick marks Mbappé’s second in the Champions League this season, following another three-goal performance against Kairat Almaty in September. With five career hat tricks in the tournament, he now ranks fourth all-time, behind Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, who each have eight, and Robert Lewandowski with six.

Currently, Mbappé is fifth on the all-time Champions League scoring list, now only eight goals away from matching Real Madrid legend Raúl González in fourth place.

Prior to this match, the former Paris Saint-Germain forward had gone three games without a goal for Madrid, during which the team struggled to secure a win.
