Arsenal Secures Agreement for Young Ecuadorian TalentsArsenal Secures Agreement for Young Ecuadorian Talents

omidbasir- Arsenal Football Club has reached a deal in principle to sign Ecuadorian twins Edwin and Holger Quintero from Independiente Del Valle, which is expected to be finalized when they turn 18 in August 2027, according to sources revealed to ESPN.

The 16-year-old twins are currently in London and are anticipated to complete the necessary formalities, including signing their contracts, ahead of an official announcement at a later date.

While the total fee for the twins remains undisclosed, this acquisition illustrates Arsenal’s ongoing strategy to recruit emerging talent. This follows their recent confirmation that another promising 16-year-old, Victor Ozhianvuna, will join from Shamrock Rovers in January 2027 upon reaching 18 years of age.

Independiente Del Valle, a prominent club in Ecuador’s Serie A, is recognized for its rich talent pool, having previously developed players like Chelsea’s Moisés Caicedo and Piero Hincapié. Hincapié notably joined Arsenal from Bayer Leverkusen on a season-long loan in September, with the option for a permanent transfer.

In addition, Chelsea has secured deals for teenagers Kendry Páez and Deinner Ordonez from Independiente, but Arsenal has successfully outmaneuvered several top European clubs to acquire the Quintero twins.

Sources indicate that Arsenal has been closely monitoring the twins for over a year. Edwin Quintero is a dynamic right winger, often compared to a young Neymar, while Holger is recognized as an attacking midfielder.

This agreement is seen as a significant achievement for the club’s academy recruitment team. A crucial factor in this success was the clear pathway to the first team, exemplified by the recent advancements of players like Myles Lewis-Skelly, Ethan Nwaneri, and most recently, Max Dowman.

Dowman, who will celebrate his 16th birthday in December, signed a scholarship deal with Arsenal in October and has already made his debuts in both the Premier League and the Champions League this season. His appearance as a substitute against Slavia Prague last month made him the youngest player to ever participate in a Champions League match.
