Tomas Cvancara s Loan Situation at Antalyaspor Possible Return to Borussia M nchengladbachTomas Cvancara s Loan Situation at Antalyaspor Possible Return to Borussia M nchengladbach

According to Sport Bild, Czech striker Tomas Cvancara is likely to return early to his parent club Borussia Mönchengladbach from his loan at Antalyaspor in Turkey. The 25-year-old forward was loaned out on a season-long deal last autumn, but he has only managed to score two goals in 11 appearances for the Turkish side so far.

The report highlights that Antalyaspor has not paid Cvancara’s salary for several months, prompting him to file a complaint with FIFA regarding the situation. While independent verification of these claims is still pending, it is noteworthy that Cvancara has not been included in the matchday squad for three of the last four league games.

This absence may be linked to the ongoing wage dispute. Sport Bild states that Antalyaspor has until the end of the calendar year to resolve the outstanding salary payments; otherwise, the loan will be automatically terminated. It remains unclear whether Borussia Mönchengladbach will have to refund the €750,000 loan fee they received for Cvancara.

The recent goal-scoring prowess of Gladbach striker Haris Tabakovic suggests that a return might not be necessary. Additionally, Cvancara’s previous issues with the club and its leadership last spring complicate any potential reconciliation. However, several factors could influence the situation. For instance, Tabakovic himself is a loan player.

Furthermore, Cvancara’s prior conflicts occurred under a different coaching and managerial regime, as both head coach Gerardo Seoane and sporting director Roland Virkus have since left the club. The newly established management team, led by Rouven Schröder and Eugen Polanski’s coaching staff, may offer a fresh opportunity for the 25-year-old striker.

Adding to the urgency, team captain Tim Kleindienst has suffered another injury setback, leaving Borussia Mönchengladbach in need of additional attacking support as they prepare for a busy schedule when Bundesliga play resumes in January. Notably, Kleindienst was among the players who had previously sidelined Cvancara from the squad but is currently unable to contribute on the pitch.
