LaLiga s Christmas Solidarity InitiativeLaLiga s Christmas Solidarity Initiative

LaLiga and its clubs are launching a charitable initiative this Christmas in partnership with social dining halls throughout Spain to support individuals in vulnerable situations. For the seventh consecutive year, this collaboration is being executed alongside local municipalities and organizations, reaching over 115 social dining halls in 42 cities.

Throughout this festive season, LaLiga will deliver more than 23,000 meals, with menus planned for significant days such as Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, and Epiphany. In addition, approximately 28,000 scarves and hats will be donated to the users of the participating social dining halls.

This initiative will benefit over 20,000 individuals through the contributions made by LaLiga and its clubs during this period. The action is driven by the LaLiga Foundation and is part of a broader set of social initiatives that LaLiga and its clubs undertake throughout the year.

“At LaLiga and our clubs, we continue to work to support those in greatest need, especially during such meaningful moments as Christmas,” stated Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga. Olga de la Fuente, director of the LaLiga Foundation, emphasized that “this initiative reflects LaLiga and the clubs’ ongoing commitment to individuals in situations of greater vulnerability, reinforcing football’s role as a social agent.”

With this initiative, LaLiga continues to harness the power of football to promote values such as solidarity and social cohesion. The commitment of the LaLiga Foundation is articulated through various initiatives and projects that foster social inclusion, such as LaLiga Genuine Moeve; education in values through football via Futura Afición and DXT para la vida; and equality of opportunity and support for disadvantaged groups, both nationally and internationally. This is evident in projects like the LaLiga Za’atari & Azraq Social Project (Jordan) and La Ligue d’Égalité (Cameroon, South Africa, and Morocco). Throughout the season, collaboration with clubs, public administrations, and social entities aims to generate a positive and lasting impact, utilizing sports, particularly football, as a tool for social transformation.
