LaLiga Launches Innovative Immersive Reality ProjectLaLiga Launches Innovative Immersive Reality Project

During the recent El Clásico held at Santiago Bernabéu, LaLiga tested an innovative immersive reality project, which it claims will “redefine how fans experience football in the future,” according to the league’s governing body.

Around 1,000 fans participated in the trial outside the stadium, using a variety of virtual reality headsets to view content recorded during the match. LaLiga reported that the feedback from this initiative was “very positive.”

LaLiga, headed by Javier Tebas, announced that it will soon unveil an application for extended reality (XR) devices, featuring exclusive content tailored for immersive experiences.

According to information obtained by MARCA, LaLiga anticipates launching this application by early 2026, with plans to potentially broadcast live matches in the medium term. It is important to note that, under the Royal Decree, only LaLiga has the authority to develop projects for broadcasting matches in the competition, rather than individual clubs.
