Sevilla FC Mid Season Review and Upcoming FixturesSevilla FC Mid Season Review and Upcoming Fixtures

Sevilla FC has concluded the first half of the season in tenth position, accumulating 20 points over 17 matches. The team has performed equally well both at home and away, securing ten points in each environment. However, playing at the Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium always provides an additional advantage, often referred to as the ‘twelfth man.’

The squad managed by Almeyda will resume their campaign by facing Levante at home on January 4 at 14:00. Following this, Celta de Vigo will visit Nervión on January 12 at 21:00, completing the first half of the league. This will be followed by two consecutive Monday matches, with Sevilla traveling to the Martínez Valero to face Elche on January 19 at 21:00. The team will then host Athletic Club on the weekend of January 25, marking three home games within three weeks.

In December, Sevilla played only one match at the Sánchez-Pizjuán, achieving an impressive 4-0 victory against Oviedo before the winter break. They faced a setback with a 0-2 defeat at the Santiago Bernabéu but left with positive impressions despite the loss, totaling four points from a possible twelve. Additionally, the team was eliminated from the Copa del Rey in the round of 32 by Alavés.

With only LaLiga left to secure a successful conclusion to the season, under the leadership of Antonio Cordón and Matías Almeyda, the primary objective is to ensure safety in the league as soon as possible while evaluating the potential for further achievements. This comes in a context marked by the impending sale of the club, anticipated to occur between March and April of 2026.
