Levante Seeks Reinforcements as January Transfer Window ApproachesLevante Seeks Reinforcements as January Transfer Window Approaches

As the bottom team in La Liga heads into the Christmas break, Levante has been exploring various options in the transfer market to reinforce their squad with wingers in January. It is crucial that any potential signings are aligned with the club’s new head coach, Portuguese Luís Castro.

Following a disappointing first half of the league season, where they secured only two victories and amassed ten points, Levante’s sports management recognizes the urgent need for players with specific skills on the flanks, both left and right, as confirmed by sources close to the Valencia club.

Currently, only the versatile Víctor García on the right, who has experience playing both as a winger and a full-back, and left-sided attacker Roger Brugué fit the profile required for these positions. However, Brugué suffered a ligament injury to his left knee a week ago, sidelining him for a couple of months.

This absence, coupled with the lack of specialized players in those positions, intensifies the necessity for new acquisitions during the winter transfer period. Additionally, Luís Castro’s assessment in the coming days will be vital, as he prepares to lead his first training session on December 29, to identify priorities in Levante’s transfer strategy.

It is worth noting that Levante has 24 first-team contracts and limited financial flexibility, necessitating careful consideration of the departures of players who have had minimal playing time thus far.
