A Difficult Moment for Álex Sancris

Facing one of the most challenging situations an athlete can encounter, Álex Sancris experienced a particularly emotional moment during a recent match.

The player from Madrid was substituted out by his coach, José Bordalás, during the game at Vallecas. Sancris left the field in the 57th minute, replaced by Juan Iglesias, only to be substituted again by Mestanza shortly thereafter. The young player was in disbelief as he made his way off the field, crossing to the opposite side before heading to the bench.

Sitting on the bench until the match concluded, the tension ultimately led to tears, presenting a heart-wrenching image. Completely distraught, Sancris covered his face with his hands, being consoled by his teammates as he struggled to contain his emotions on the grass of the Estadio De Vallecas.

“These are decisions you make as a coach… the foul was committed by the player who came on for him. It’s not pleasant, but decisions must be made,” Bordalás stated after the game.
