Ajax Considers New Trainer and Potential Transfer of Roony Bardghji

Ajax is preparing to appoint a new coach, who is expected to make an impact on the team during the upcoming winter break at the Johan Cruijff ArenA.

The financial resources in Amsterdam are limited, but technical director Alex Kroes, who remains in his position for the time being, may need to think creatively. The name Roony Bardghji from FC Barcelona has been circulating in the capital recently, as he is reportedly available for a loan.

Bardghji transferred this past summer from FC Copenhagen to Barcelona for €2.5 million, initially set to join the second team. However, coach Hansi Flick has frequently utilized him, albeit in a substitute role. In 2023, the winger expressed his ambition, stating, “My goal is to become the best player in the world. I have had this dream since I was young, and no one can stop me except myself.” After not being called up for the Swedish national team, he remarked, “I actually don’t care; it’s about what someone else thinks… What more can a seventeen-year-old do to get selected?”
