Ajax Eyes Marvin Young A Potential Record Transfer from Sparta RotterdamAjax Eyes Marvin Young A Potential Record Transfer from Sparta Rotterdam

omidbasir- Ajax has set its sights on Marvin Young, described as “one of the greatest talents on Dutch fields”. Young is expected to transfer from Sparta Rotterdam, but the move comes at a steep price, potentially setting a new record for the club.

Dennis Kranenburg from RTV Rijnmond reported that “Marvin Young is in strong demand by Ajax.” This remark was part of a discussion regarding the future of head coach Maurice Steijn. Kranenburg noted, “Whether he stays depends on what the upcoming season looks like for Sparta. With players like Joshua Kitolano and Tobias Lauritsen facing contract expirations, losing them would result in a significant depletion of the squad. If Steijn is to start anew, he would likely seek some assurances for the next season.”

The situation in the Eredivisie is tense, with speculation surrounding player movements. Young, an international for the Dutch U21 team, has not become more affordable; his market value has surged from an estimated €2.5 million last summer to €4 million now. Furthermore, the key player is under contract at Het Kasteel until mid-2029, eliminating any immediate pressure on Sparta to sell. For Ajax to finalize this deal, they will need to surpass Sparta’s transfer record, currently set at €5 million, established by the transfers of Ayoub Oufkir to AZ and Maduka Okoye to Watford. Boualin has confirmed that Young’s asking price remains at a minimum of €7 million.
