Ajax Faces Challenges with Edvardsen’s Transfer

A year ago, Ajax made a notable attacking transfer in the Eredivisie, but the situation now appears to be heading towards a dramatic turn.

Making the leap from Go Ahead Eagles to Ajax is a rare opportunity for many. Victor Edvardsen completed his transfer from Deventer to Amsterdam during the final days of last winter’s transfer window. However, the winger has yet to find his footing at the Johan Cruijff ArenA.

“They don’t want to loan him, but rather sell him.”

Edvardsen is certainly permitted to leave Amsterdam, as confirmed by club commentator Mike Verweij from De Telegraaf in a recent episode of the Kick-Off podcast. “The issue so far has been that only clubs are interested in loaning him, while Ajax is genuinely looking to sell. He cost the record champions three million euros last year, and they expect to recoup a similar amount.”
