Ajax is still actively negotiating with Arsenal FC for the transfer of Oleksandr Zinchenko. The Amsterdam club prefers a permanent transfer rather than a loan, but the discussions are progressing slowly.

Currently, the situation between Ajax, Arsenal, and Oleksandr Zinchenko remains tense. To aid in the negotiations, Jordi Cruijff has been brought on board, as reported by club observer Mike Verweij in the podcast Kick Off. “He is in discussions with Arsenal and Arteta to push the Zinchenko deal in the right direction, as progress has stalled,” the journalist noted. Officially, Cruijff will assume the role of technical director starting February 1st. “He is not making the decisions but is involved in many aspects of the process. He is also assessing the situation. When you speak with him, people become enthusiastic about Cruijff’s passion.”

As of January 24th, there is an update indicating that the deal is currently on hold. According to reports from England, specifically Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph, negotiations regarding Oleksandr Zinchenko have been paused. Before Zinchenko can move to Ajax, he must finalize his departure from Arsenal FC, which is proving to be a complicated process.
