Ajax Prepares for Major Squad Overhaul

Ajax is preparing to implement a substantial transformation within its squad this month. The club is aiming to acquire Oleksandr Zinchenko from Arsenal FC to fill the left-back position, which would likely result in the departure of Owen Wijndal.

Mike Verweij, a club analyst, noted that Ajax is eager to offload Wijndal, who commands a hefty salary in Amsterdam but has not been performing to expectations. “Wijndal earns a significant amount, and Ajax ultimately wants to move on from that situation,” Verweij shared during the De Telegraaf podcast, Kick-Off. “This serves as a clear signal to Wijndal.”

Ajax’s intention to build for the future has been evident for some time. This ambition necessitates the sacrifice of certain players. Kian Fitz-Jim, Oliver Edvardsen, Branco van den Boomen, and Anton Gaaei are four individuals who may be released from the club in either the winter or summer transfer windows.
