Ajax Pursues New Technical Director Amidst Management ChangesAjax Pursues New Technical Director Amidst Management Changes

omidbasir- Since Alex Kroes announced his resignation as technical director, Ajax has been on the lookout for a suitable replacement. According to sources including De Telegraaf, Jordi Cruijff is currently the frontrunner for the position. However, discussions on Vandaag Inside have suggested that Ajax should prioritize Max Huiberts.

Following John Heitinga’s dismissal, Kroes offered to make his position available. Although he is contracted until the end of the season, he has indicated that he will step down if a new technical director is found sooner. On Monday, it was reported that Menno Geelen and Marijn Beuker have had an initial discussion with Cruijff regarding the role, although it was described as merely ‘exploratory.’

In a swift turn of events, De Telegraaf reported that Huiberts ‘under no circumstances’ would move to Ajax. Nonetheless, columnist Valentijn Driessen insists that Ajax should make an effort to recruit him. “He may not want to join, but even if it costs ten million, it would be worth it. He has generated significant value for AZ, making him a bargain at that price. However, if he is not interested, then the matter is settled.”
