Ajax is on the verge of finalizing the transfer of Raúl Moro to Osasuna. As a result, the Amsterdam club must urgently seek a new winger to bolster their squad. Ilias Akhomach was reportedly among the targets; however, he will complete the season on loan at Rayo Vallecano, where Iñigo Pérez serves as head coach. Notably, Pérez is also being considered by Ajax as a possible new coach.

With Moro seemingly set to depart after just six months, Ajax is now in search of attacking reinforcements. Alongside Akhomach, Yáser Asprilla from Girona and Leon Bailey, currently on loan to AS Roma, are also being monitored. However, with Akhomach’s loan to Rayo Vallecano, this option appears to be off the table. According to Fabrizio Romano, the 21-year-old Moroccan is undergoing a medical examination near Madrid ahead of his temporary move from Villarreal.

Pérez has garnered a positive reputation at Ajax. Late last October, ESPN reported that the current coach of Rayo Vallecano is well-regarded in Amsterdam. Especially Marijn Beuker, the director of football, has shown considerable interest in the Spanish coach and sought to bring him to the Johan Cruijff ArenA last summer. However, this move was blocked by the Supervisory Board and technical director Alex Kroes, who favored the appointment of a Dutch coach instead.
