Ajax Retains Rising Star Oliver Edvardsen Amidst Transfer Speculations

Fred Grim, Ajax’s interim coach, is determined that the club will not part ways with the promising Oliver Edvardsen in January. The young Norwegian recently made headlines by scoring the decisive goal against Villarreal CF, securing a 2-1 victory for Ajax.

After the match, Grim stated, “Do I want to keep Oliver? He is an exceptional player and a remarkable person. He certainly does not hinder our plans.” In an interview with Ziggo Sport, he added, “I believe Ollie had a fantastic performance as a substitute and scored the winning goal.”

However, in a previous conversation with ESPN, Grim acknowledged that he had not been entirely pleased with the uncertainty surrounding Edvardsen’s future at the Johan Cruijff ArenA. “They are open to selling or loaning me out. It’s a tough decision, but we will see what happens. Do I have regrets? I wouldn’t put it that way. Maybe just a little bit sometimes.”
