Ajax Seeks Experienced Leader Following Henderson s DepartureAjax Seeks Experienced Leader Following Henderson s Departure

Jordan Henderson left Ajax last summer to join Brentford. In the Premier League, the veteran player has been performing remarkably well. Meanwhile, Ajax is still in search of an experienced leader after the unsuccessful experiment with loan signing James McConnell.

Mike Verweij states, “Ajax is currently focusing on right-back JP Chermont and winger Maher Carrizo, as Maarten Paes and (almost) Oleksandr Zinchenko have already joined the team. If all goes well, we expect to bring in an experienced defensive midfielder as well,” he mentioned in the Kick Off podcast.

Valentijn Driessen suggested a possible solution: “Could they not bring him back? He is sitting on the bench at Brentford, isn’t he? Ajax was quite pleased with him, after all.”
