Ajax Set to Invest Transfer Funds After Kenneth Taylor DepartureAjax Set to Invest Transfer Funds After Kenneth Taylor Departure

Ajax Amsterdam has confirmed that they will receive approximately €17 million from SS Lazio for the transfer of Kenneth Taylor, with the total amount rising to €20 million including bonuses, as reported by ESPN. This influx of funds is set to enable the club to engage in the transfer market.

While Ajax is not specifically searching for a direct replacement for Taylor, according to De Telegraaf, the club recognizes the need for effective winter signings to maintain pressure on Feyenoord in the coming months. Following the potential signing of Japanese defender Takehiro Tomiyasu, Ajax is actively looking to acquire a left or right back, a defensive midfielder, and a creative forward. Furthermore, Oliver Edvardsen has been informed that he should seek opportunities at another club.

Among the names being discussed at the Johan Cruijff ArenA is that of Manuel Ugarte from Manchester United. However, the Uruguayan midfielder comes with a hefty price tag, with his market value estimated at €30 million, making a permanent transfer unlikely at this time. If Ajax is required to cover a portion of Ugarte’s salary, which is reportedly around €6 million per season at Old Trafford, the financial commitment would still be considerable.
