Ajax Shows Interest in Young Defender Marvin Young

The Sparta defender had already garnered interest from PSV last summer, and now the Amsterdam club is hopeful of securing a deal in the upcoming summer transfer window. However, Ajax will need to prepare a substantial financial offer, as Young will not come at a bargain.

In the Rijnmond program “Sparta naar Voren!”, businessman and columnist Robert De Boeck expressed his enthusiasm for Young’s performance, particularly noting his impressive display against NEC. “It’s incredible how well Young performs at such a young age. I would acquire him at any cost if I were a top club. He possesses immense potential.”

Discussing the future of head coach Maurice Steijn, De Boeck remarked, “Will he stay? That depends on what the prospects are for next season at Sparta. You also have Joshua Kitolano and Tobias Lauritsen, both of whom have expiring contracts. If those players leave, it will significantly deplete the squad. If he has to start over, it’s reasonable to expect some assurances for the next season.”
