Ajax Struggles to Find a Replacement for Jordan HendersonAjax Struggles to Find a Replacement for Jordan Henderson

omidbasir- Ajax has struggled to secure a new player for the number six position during the recent transfer window. Following the departure of Jordan Henderson, the club sought a replacement last summer, but no suitable candidate has yet been found. Guus Hiddink believes this issue could have been resolved internally, while Theo Janssen points to shortcomings in club management.

In a discussion on Rondo, Hiddink highlighted the significant gap between Ajax and PSV, noting that the club’s foundation has been compromised. “The fundamentals have completely collapsed. It’s not just about the coach. At PSV, we see that they have made smart acquisitions, there is a strong duo in charge, a competent coach, and a very active Supervisory Board. This cohesive unit at PSV is much stronger, while Ajax has become fragmented.”

Fred Grim, the Ajax coach, expressed disappointment during a press briefing ahead of the AZ – Ajax match, which ended in a 1-1 draw. He commented on the ongoing search for a number six, stating, “We have been trying to find this player for two transfer windows. We have had several candidates for the number six position within reach, but it must be financially viable and responsible.”
