Ajax’s Major Squad Overhaul This Month

Ajax is poised to implement a significant transformation within its squad this month. The club is aiming to secure Oleksandr Zinchenko from Arsenal FC to fill the left-back position, which would likely result in the departure of Owen Wijndal.

According to club analyst Mike Verweij, Ajax is keen to part ways with Wijndal, who commands a substantial salary in Amsterdam yet has not been performing up to expectations. “Wijndal earns a considerable amount, and Ajax is ultimately looking to move on from him,” Verweij stated during the Kick-Off podcast from De Telegraaf. “This also serves as a clear signal to Wijndal.”

Ajax’s intentions to build for the future have been evident for some time. This strategy necessitates the departure of several players. Kian Fitz-Jim, Oliver Edvardsen, Branco van den Boomen, and Anton Gaaei are among the four players who may leave Ajax during the upcoming winter or summer transfer windows.
