Ajax s Transfer Ambitions and Challenges Ahead of the New SeasonAjax s Transfer Ambitions and Challenges Ahead of the New Season

omidbasir- In recent weeks, Ajax has articulated strong ambitions regarding player transfers, yet the squad under Fred Grim has seen little enhancement thus far. This observation comes from Johan Inan, a club observer for the Algemeen Dagblad. It appears that Marijn Beuker is pursuing only unattainable, high-profile names.

Ajax is determined to secure a second-place finish in the Eredivisie this season, as that position guarantees direct entry into the Champions League for the following year, significantly boosting revenue. “This would greatly assist Jordi Cruijff in sculpting a new squad,” Inan remarks during the AD Voetbalpodcast. Currently, Ajax trails two points behind second-place Feyenoord.

The lack of substantial signings by Alex Kroes and Beuker can be partly attributed to Cruijff’s appointment on February 1. Inan notes, “Cruijff prefers immediate reinforcements, and this has led them to targets like Zinchenko.” Although Cruijff’s official start is still a week away, he seems to be cautiously involving himself in the transfer discussions.
