Ajax s Winter Transfer Window Updates and InsightsAjax s Winter Transfer Window Updates and Insights

Ajax is experiencing a relatively calm winter transfer period thus far. Despite being linked to numerous players, Takehiro Tomiyasu remains the only new addition to the squad. The transfer plans, both incoming and outgoing, have been discussed in the SoccerNews podcast, ‘Transfermind.’

One player expected to depart from Ajax this winter is Kenneth Taylor. The midfielder has been seeking a new adventure for approximately a year and a half, but a significant transfer has yet to materialize. Recently, Bert van Marwijk noted in his column for De Telegraaf that this situation is disappointing for both Ajax and Taylor, as he has not secured a major move. Van Marwijk also expressed doubt about Taylor’s potential to succeed abroad, stating he does not fall into the category of ‘super talents.’

In addition to a defensive midfielder, Ajax is also on the lookout for an additional left-back. Players such as Jorrel Hato, Quilindschy Hartman, and Julio Soler were all under consideration, but none have made the move to Amsterdam. Boualin commented, “Hartman would have been ideal for Ajax. It would have been a perfect solution for both parties. Beyond sentiment, it would have been a brilliant move.”
