Allan Saint-Maximin has announced his departure from Mexican club Club America by mutual consent, citing incidents of racist abuse directed at his children.

The 28-year-old former Newcastle United winger took to Instagram to express his outrage, highlighting that his family had been unfairly targeted. In his post, he stated, “The problem is not the colour of your skin, it’s the colour of your thoughts.”

Saint-Maximin further elaborated, saying, “I’m being attacked, which is not a problem—I grew up and learned to fight against such attacks. However, there is one thing I will never tolerate: my kids being picked on.”

He emphasized that protecting his children is his top priority and vowed to advocate for their respect and love, irrespective of their background or skin color. “Hate and discrimination have no place in our society,” he asserted.

Since leaving St James’ Park in 2023, Saint-Maximin has also played for Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia and Fenerbahce in Turkey.

Club America coach Andre Jardine praised Saint-Maximin, describing him as a “fantastic” player with the capability to excel in any league worldwide. He concluded with, “We wish him all the best.”
