Ruben Amorim has been allocated funds to initiate a squad rebuild during the summer transfer window. He has successfully enhanced the team’s offensive capabilities by acquiring Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha, and Bryan Mbeumo. Additionally, he has addressed the goalkeeper position by replacing the underperforming Andre Onana with Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp.

Although United started the season slowly, they managed to secure three consecutive victories in October against Sunderland, Liverpool, and Brighton. This momentum was briefly interrupted by two 2-2 draws against Nottingham Forest and Tottenham.

Amorim is keen to maintain the team’s upward trajectory and intends to bring in club legends Eric Cantona, David Beckham, Paul Scholes, Teddy Sheringham, Andy Cole, and Dwight Yorke to provide further support.

A source close to Amorim revealed to The Sun that the Portuguese coach holds a profound admiration for these icons and wishes for them to impart their wisdom to the younger members of his squad. The source elaborated, “Throughout his own career, Ruben has always valued interactions with former players and club legends, as they share invaluable knowledge, stories, and advice about representing the club. Coming from Benfica, he is acutely aware of the pressures involved and how they can foster personal and professional growth. He believes these engagements will greatly benefit the players during their time at United, both on and off the pitch.”

In a recent stage show, “An Evening with Eric The King Cantona,” the Frenchman disclosed that he had previously offered his services to United but was declined by part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe. He remarked, “I have many other passions and projects, but I thought that for two or three years I could perhaps set those aside and contribute to this club, which has given me so much. However, [Ratcliffe] didn’t seem interested. I did what I could, so I no longer feel guilty. I tried my best. Sir Alex Ferguson established a style of beautiful attacking football that the new owners should have embraced, but instead, they dismantled it.”

Following the strengthening of the attack, Amorim is now focused on enhancing the midfield in the January transfer window. He has reportedly compiled a shortlist of six potential midfield targets, which includes Carlos Baleba, Adam Wharton, and Joao Gomes.

The Red Devils are set to face Everton in the Premier League on November 24 at Old Trafford.
