Analysis of Josip Sutalo’s Transfer Potential Amid FC Volendam Match

Ajax will face FC Volendam on Saturday afternoon. In his pre-match analysis, Bram van Polen, speaking from the Johan Cruijff ArenA, has advised that Josip Sutalo should be sold for a bid of ten million euros.

‘Considering this season’s performance, I would accept an offer of ten million for Sutalo,’ he stated.

According to ESPN, there is interest in the Croatian defender from clubs in Germany and Italy. Sutalo transferred from Dinamo Zagreb for over twenty million euros two and a half years ago. His performance peaked during the season under Francesco Farioli; however, he tends to struggle when playing with a high defensive line. Van Polen noted: “This was evident during the cup match against AZ, where he did not perform well. Defending in expansive spaces is particularly challenging for him, which is an area where he lacks proficiency.”
