Andy Carroll Faces Legal Proceedings Amid Injury RecoveryAndy Carroll Faces Legal Proceedings Amid Injury Recovery

In April 2025, Andy Carroll was arrested following an incident that occurred in March, leading to charges of breaching a non-molestation order. This order is a court injunction designed to prevent an individual from communicating with another person, which may also include restrictions on visiting specific addresses.

Carroll is accused of making repeated phone calls to his ex-wife, Mucklow, yet he pleaded not guilty during a hearing at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday. Arriving on crutches due to a recent leg surgery, Carroll’s legal situation is developing further.

Deputy District Judge Roy Brown released Carroll on bail, while imposing a condition that prohibits him from contacting Mucklow. The judge warned that any breach of this condition could lead to further arrest and custody.

Carroll is scheduled to stand trial at Chelmsford Crown Court on March 4. If found guilty of breaching the non-molestation order, he could face penalties ranging from a fine to a potential prison sentence of up to five years.

Beginning his career at Newcastle United, Carroll was instrumental in the club’s promotion to the Premier League in 2010. His subsequent impressive performance earned him a high-profile transfer to Liverpool. However, his time at Anfield saw limited success, resulting in a loan move to West Ham United, where he eventually signed permanently in 2013 before returning to Newcastle.

After stints at Reading and West Bromwich Albion, Carroll played in France for Amiens and Bordeaux. In a surprising move, he returned to England to sign with Dagenham & Redbridge, a sixth-tier club, in 2025, where he has made 13 league appearances this season.

Currently, Carroll is sidelined due to injury following surgery. He shared an update on Instagram expressing optimism about his recovery, stating, “I’ll be back with the @daggersfcofficial as soon as I can. The surgery on my fracture and ligaments went well with the best guy in the business, Rhys Thomas. Thank you.”

Before resuming his football commitments, Carroll is set to return to Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on March 4 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
