Antoine Semenyo Poised for Medical at Manchester CityAntoine Semenyo Poised for Medical at Manchester City

Antoine Semenyo, who joined Bournemouth in January 2023 from Bristol City, is on the verge of a significant transfer to Manchester City. The winger is expected to complete his move before Saturday, having agreed to meet the £65 million release clause that must be activated by January 10.

Semenyo is scheduled to undergo a medical examination following Bournemouth’s match against Tottenham on Wednesday at 19:30 GMT. While there has been interest from several clubs, including Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Tottenham, Manchester City is the sole club to have made formal contact with Bournemouth regarding the player.

Cherries manager Andoni Iraola commented on the situation, suggesting that the upcoming match against Spurs could be Semenyo’s last with Bournemouth. “That is my personal opinion, but there is nothing agreed and nothing signed. It is my personal opinion as I understand the market and the noise, but there is nothing agreed right now. He is, for the moment, our player, and I hope it continues,” he stated.

This season, Semenyo has made a notable impact, scoring nine goals and providing three assists for Bournemouth. Iraola expressed the difficulty of replacing the Ghana international, stating he is “almost impossible to replace.”

As the situation develops, the football community will be watching closely to see how Semenyo’s transfer unfolds.
