Antoine Semenyo s Potential Departure from Bournemouth Insights from Manager Andoni IraolaAntoine Semenyo s Potential Departure from Bournemouth Insights from Manager Andoni Iraola

Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola stated on Tuesday that he recognizes the possibility of Antoine Semenyo making his last appearance for the club during the match against Tottenham on Wednesday night.

Manchester City is reportedly on the verge of signing Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth, having indicated their intention to activate the £65 million ($88 million) release clause in his contract.

Sources informed ESPN that Semenyo, who celebrates his 26th birthday on Wednesday, is anticipated to undergo a medical examination with City on Thursday or Friday, following Bournemouth’s fixture with Tottenham.

Iraola noted that while no formal agreement has been reached regarding the future of the Ghanaian international, who has had an impressive season, he remains realistic about the situation.

“Antoine will play tomorrow, yes. I can share my perspective based on experience, but there is nothing signed with Antoine Semenyo,” Iraola remarked during a press conference.

“If you were to ask me personally, ‘What do you think?’ Given all the speculation, I believe it could be his last game, but I cannot assure it.

“I comprehend the market and the surrounding discussions, but at this moment, nothing is finalized, nothing is signed, so he remains our player, and I hope he stays. However, I also understand, having been involved in the transfer market with this club and others, that there is a chance it could be his last game as well.”

Additionally, Bournemouth confirmed that forward Justin Kluivert will require surgery on his left knee following an injury sustained during the defeat against Arsenal on Saturday, necessitating a period of rehabilitation.
