omidbasir- On Tuesday, Brazilian player Antony spoke with Radio MARCA Sevilla to reflect on his inaugural season as a permanent member of Real Betis following a successful previous loan. He discussed Isco’s impending return, the challenge of qualifying for the Champions League, his dream of playing in the World Cup for Brazil, and the future of coach Manuel Pellegrini.

Regarding his current performance level, Antony stated, “I am feeling much better now. The first three games were challenging due to not having a preseason, but I feel physically at 100%.”

He expressed eagerness to compete again, saying, “Yes, I’m always working at home and hitting the gym. Even during breaks, I continue to train.”

On the topic of competing for Brazil, he mentioned, “There is a lot of competition for places. Wearing the national team jersey is a dream, and I am focused on improving with every match. I have great respect for the talented wingers on the national team, but I will do my best to earn a spot in the World Cup.”

Antony praised the team’s current form, noting, “We are performing well, but there are many matches ahead. Our goal is to compete in all competitions and stay at the top of LaLiga. We must remain humble and take it one step at a time, focusing on each challenging match. This Sunday, we have an important home game that we must win, followed by another crucial match on Thursday.”

He was enthusiastic about Isco’s return, saying, “Isco is phenomenal, and we all know his importance to the team. We are eager to see his magic back on the field. He’s already improving, taking the first steps toward recovery.”

When asked if Isco would be ready for the upcoming match, he confirmed, “Yes, Isco is doing well, he feels good, and everyone at the club is excited for his return.”

Antony described Isco’s training performance, stating, “His magical skills are evident in training, whether he has the ball or not. Isco is an excellent example for us; he works hard and brings a unique flair to the game.”

Discussing the dream of participating in the Champions League, he remarked, “Of course, we aspire to compete in the Champions League. We must remain ambitious while acknowledging that there are many matches ahead. Every time I wear the Betis jersey, I aim to fight for every competition, whether European or domestic. Our dream is to be at the top and compete in prestigious tournaments.”

Looking ahead to the Seville derby, he added, “It is a significant match, but we must focus on the two upcoming games first. We need to win these to build confidence before facing the derby.”

Antony praised his teammate Amrabat, saying, “I know him from Manchester United; he is an excellent player. I reached out to him before joining Betis because I recognized his potential. He contributes significantly on the field with his work rate and winner mentality. We are very happy to have him.”

On the possibility of Amrabat staying beyond one year, he expressed, “Yes, but that’s ultimately a decision for the player and the club. If you ask me, I would love for him to stay. We need to enjoy his presence while he’s here, as he’s vital for us.”

Addressing Pellegrini’s contract renewal, Antony added, “I don’t know what will happen ultimately; the decision rests with the coach and the club. However, he is a fantastic coach who instills confidence in all players. We all give our best because we respect him and appreciate his day-to-day presence. It would be great to continue working with him.”

When asked if he would be at Betis without Pellegrini, Antony replied, “I’m not sure, as the club wanted me as well. However, Pellegrini is a crucial figure for my presence here. Working with him is beneficial for my growth, and I feel very happy.”

Concerning his life in Seville, he stated, “Yes, the city is incredible. My mother has been here for about four or five days and is also delighted. Each day, I feel happier here with my family, which is vital for my performance on the field. During the break, I stayed here, and the city is wonderful.”
