Argentina Selects Kansas City for World Cup Training CampArgentina Selects Kansas City for World Cup Training Camp

Argentina has officially designated Kansas City, Missouri, as their training camp site for the defense of their 2022 World Cup title. They will kick off their campaign there with an opening match against Algeria on June 16 at Arrowhead Stadium. The reigning champions are already gearing up for the 2026 World Cup, which is expected to be Lionel Messi’s final appearance in the tournament.

The Argentine Football Association (AFA) announced that the decision followed a series of inspection visits conducted by Physical Trainer Luis Martín, Alternate Physical Trainer Juan Tamone, and administrators Daniel Cabrera and Alberto Pernas. After a comprehensive evaluation, they concluded that Kansas City offers the ideal conditions for their delegation, considering the distance between cities and the available amenities.

Lionel Scaloni’s squad will conduct their training at the Compass Minerals National Performance Center, which serves as the training facility for the local Major League Soccer team, Sporting Kansas City.

Upcoming matches include:
– Tuesday, June 16: Algeria in Kansas at Arrowhead Stadium
– Monday, June 22: Austria in Dallas at AT&T Stadium
– Saturday, June 27: Jordan in Dallas at AT&T Stadium.
