Arsenal Football Club has reached a preliminary agreement to sign Ecuadorian twins Edwin and Holger Quintero from Independiente Del Valle, effective upon their 18th birthday in August 2027, as reported by ESPN.

The 16-year-old twins are in London this week to complete the necessary formalities, including the signing of their contracts, ahead of an official announcement anticipated at a later date.

While the financial details of the deal remain undisclosed, this move underscores Arsenal’s commitment to attracting top talent from the next generation. This follows the earlier confirmation that another promising player, 16-year-old Victor Ozhianvuna, will join the Gunners from Shamrock Rovers in January 2027.

Independiente Del Valle, a prominent team in Ecuador’s Serie A, is known for cultivating exceptional football talent, having previously produced stars like Chelsea’s Moisés Caicedo and Piero Hincapié, who recently joined Arsenal on loan from Bayer Leverkusen with an option for a permanent transfer.

Arsenal successfully outmaneuvered several top European clubs to secure the Quintero twins, with sources indicating that the Gunners have been monitoring their progress for over a year. Edwin Quintero is recognized for his speed as a right winger and has drawn comparisons to a young Neymar, while Holger is regarded as a talented attacking midfielder.

The acquisition is seen as a significant achievement for Arsenal’s academy recruitment team, bolstered by a clear pathway to the first team, as evidenced by the recent advancements of players like Myles Lewis-Skelly, Ethan Nwaneri, and the latest addition, Max Dowman.

Dowman, who will celebrate his 16th birthday in December, signed a scholarship agreement with Arsenal in October and has already made his debut in both the Premier League and the Champions League this season, becoming the youngest player to participate in the latter.
