Arsenal Secures Deal for Ecuadorian Twins QuinteroArsenal Secures Deal for Ecuadorian Twins Quintero

Arsenal Football Club has reached a deal in principle to sign Ecuadorian twins Edwin and Holger Quintero from Independiente Del Valle, with the agreement set to take effect when they turn 18 in August 2027, according to sources from ESPN.

The 16-year-olds are currently in London and are expected to complete necessary formalities, including contract signing, ahead of an official announcement at a later date.

While the financial details of the deal remain unclear, this move is part of Arsenal’s ongoing strategy to recruit top young talent. The club had previously confirmed the signing of another promising 16-year-old, Victor Ozhianvuna, who is set to join from Shamrock Rovers in January 2027 upon turning 18.

Independiente Del Valle, an esteemed team in the Ecuadorian Serie A, is renowned for producing exceptional talent, including Chelsea’s Moisés Caicedo and Piero Hincapié, who recently joined Arsenal on a season-long loan from Bayer Leverkusen, with an option for a permanent transfer.

Arsenal has successfully outmaneuvered several top European clubs to secure the Quintero twins, who have been under the club’s observation for over a year. Edwin Quintero is noted for his speed as a right winger and has drawn comparisons to a young Neymar, while Holger is recognized for his skills as an attacking midfielder.

This acquisition is perceived as a significant achievement for the club’s academy recruitment team, with sources indicating that a major factor in the twins’ decision was the clear pathway to the first team exemplified by the recent advancements of players such as Myles Lewis-Skelly, Ethan Nwaneri, and the latest talent, Max Dowman.

Dowman, who will turn 16 in December, signed a scholarship agreement with Arsenal in October and has already made his debuts in both the Premier League and the Champions League this season. His substitute appearance against Slavia Prague last month made him the youngest player in history to participate in the Champions League.
