omidbasir- Bayern München has officially sold Paul Wanner to PSV this past summer for around fifteen million euros, following extensive consideration. In a press conference on Tuesday, coach Vincent Kompany elaborated on the rationale behind this transfer.

Wanner, who made history as the youngest debutant ever at Bayern, has played eight matches for the club. Kompany stated, “At the age of nineteen or twenty, PSV offers an ideal environment to launch your career. He will have ample opportunities to play matches here. I was also at Anderlecht at twenty, which served as a great platform for me.” This quote was reported by the Eindhovens Dagblad.

In discussing strategy, Kompany confirmed that he brought all of his key players to Eindhoven, despite Bayern already securing advancement to the next round of the Champions League. “We do not engage in resting players. When we make substitutions, it’s because we want to introduce fresh energy that can make a difference. Many of our players have logged substantial minutes over the past few months, and some are just returning. However, resting players is not an option against PSV, as they are a formidable opponent. We aim to win, especially given their impressive performances this season, so we must remain cautious,” he emphasized. The expected lineup of Bayern against PSV can be found here.
