Bayern Munich Eyes Alejandro Grimaldo as Potential Replacement for GuerreiroBayern Munich Eyes Alejandro Grimaldo as Potential Replacement for Guerreiro

According to Kicker, Bayern Munich is keeping a close eye on Bayer Leverkusen’s full-back Alejandro Grimaldo in anticipation of the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Spanish international is viewed as a strong candidate to succeed Raphaël Guerreiro, who is set to leave the club when his contract expires next summer. Although Guerreiro has delivered commendable performances, he is gradually losing his position in the team under coach Vincent Kompany.

Recently, 20-year-old Tom Bischof has stepped into the full-back role as Bayern prepares for the imminent return of Alphonso Davies. This situation makes Grimaldo an attractive option to fill the additional full-back spot that will be available following Guerreiro’s departure.

Currently, Bayern is monitoring the 30-year-old Grimaldo, who has a contract with Leverkusen until 2027, though an extension beyond that seems unlikely. However, one challenge for Bayern could be Grimaldo’s recent statements expressing a desire to conclude his career in his home country.
