Bayern Munich s Executive Responds to Kane s Commitment to the ClubBayern Munich s Executive Responds to Kane s Commitment to the Club

Bayern Munich’s executive leadership has expressed enthusiasm following star striker Harry Kane’s recent remarks about his long-term future with the club. Kane, who joined Bayern in the summer of 2023, visited a fan club event where he suggested that extending his stay beyond his current contract is “100 percent possible.”

During a media engagement, Bayern’s Chief Executive, Jan-Christian Dreesen, conveyed his satisfaction with Kane’s comments. He regards the England captain as a fundamental part of the club’s ongoing project and welcomed the player’s public affirmation of his commitment.

“If he said that, then I am happy about it,” Dreesen stated at the fan club gathering. “He is vital to our team with his goals, playing style, and leadership qualities.”

With Kane’s contract set to expire in June 2027, Bayern is approaching a timeframe in which discussions about renewal will become a priority. At 32 years old, the next contract he signs is likely to be the final significant deal of his career.

Dreesen clarified that while there is no immediate urgency to finalize a new contract, the club is preparing to engage with Kane when the timing is appropriate. The relationship between Kane’s representatives and the Bayern board remains robust, built on the trust established during his initial transfer.

“We will certainly speak to each other at the appropriate time,” Dreesen explained. “We have great confidence in the process and in Harry.”

Reflecting on the challenging process that brought Kane to the Bundesliga, Dreesen noted the lengthy negotiations involved in the summer of 2023, particularly emphasizing Tottenham’s chairman, Daniel Levy, who is known for being a tough negotiator.

Ultimately, Bayern secured Kane for a fee exceeding £86 million, setting a club record. Dreesen recalled the intensity of those negotiations and how they established a strong bond between the club and the player.

“I can still vividly remember the summer of 2023, when we – and I personally – fought hard to bring Harry to Munich,” Dreesen remarked.

The effort has proven fruitful, as Kane quickly adapted on the pitch, breaking scoring records in his debut season. Dreesen also emphasized the importance of Kane’s off-field adjustment, noting that after initially residing in a hotel, Kane’s family has now moved to Bavaria, enhancing their overall comfort and happiness.

“I have particularly felt over the last few months how at ease he and his family are here,” the CEO added.

Dreesen’s remarks were triggered by Kane’s recent appearance at a traditional fan club event on Sunday. Bayern players typically engage with local supporter groups during the winter break, and it was during one of these intimate Q&A sessions that Kane expressed his thoughts on remaining with the club beyond 2027, stating it was “100 percent possible” and that he could not envision a better place to be at present.

This sentiment reflects his positive performance on the field; Kane recently contributed to the club’s 5-0 friendly victory over Red Bull Salzburg, aiding the team’s preparations for the Bundesliga restart against Wolfsburg.

Bayern is keen to ensure that he does not depart for a European rival, as Kane has impressively scored 115 goals in just 121 games for the club, including 30 goals this season from 25 appearances.
