Harry Kane stated that “it’s not time to panic” following Bayern Munich’s first defeat of the season, a 3-1 loss against Arsenal in the Champions League.

Mikel Arteta’s squad achieved their fifth consecutive win in the Champions League, securing a three-point lead at the top of the European table through goals from Jurriën Timber, Noni Madueke, and Gabriel Martinelli, with teenager Lennart Karl contributing Bayern’s sole goal.

Prior to their visit to the Emirates, Bayern had maintained an unbeaten record across all competitions, including a recent Champions League victory against the European champions, Paris Saint-Germain. In light of this setback, Kane expressed confidence that Bayern would not lose focus.

“It’s our first loss of the season, and we don’t want to panic too much about it,” Kane told TNT Sports. “However, we will certainly learn from this experience.

“They won the first and second balls. We were aware of their danger from set pieces, and I am sure we will encounter Arsenal again in the later stages of the Champions League.

“They defended man-to-man for the most part on the pitch. As I mentioned, I don’t think it’s time to panic. We have faced Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, and Arsenal away, and we have secured victories in the majority of our matches.”

Kane, who captains the England national team, noted that Bayern’s defeat stemmed from their inability to match Arsenal’s intensity in the second half. “It was a tough match, which is what we anticipated. The first half was a good contest and relatively even.

“In the second half, we lacked the same energy and intensity and lost too many duels.”

Arsenal’s coach, Mikel Arteta, lauded his players for overcoming what he deemed the “best team in Europe” by achieving victory against Bayern.

Conversely, Bayern’s coach, Vincent Kompany, downplayed the praise, asserting that it is premature to label any team as the best in the competition this early in the season.

“We had a similar discussion three weeks ago when we faced PSG,” Kompany remarked. “They received the same kind of accolades.

“But none of us aim to be the best team in November. Our goal is to utilize this period to build towards being at our peak during the crucial moments of the season.”
