With Super Bowl LX approaching this Sunday, Bayern Munich’s social media team is seizing the opportunity to highlight their star players’ enthusiasm for the NFL. Harry Kane and Serge Gnabry recently engaged in a friendly competition to see who could spin an American football, which shares a similar shape to a rugby ball, for the longest duration. In a thrilling contest, former Arsenal player Gnabry narrowly triumphed over his ex-Tottenham teammate by mere milliseconds.

Kane has openly expressed his admiration for the NFL, frequently mentioning New England Patriots legend Tom Brady, who is now a partial owner of Championship side Birmingham. Kane has drawn parallels between his own journey and Brady’s, stating, “I saw a lot of similarities between me and him. No one expected him to do it, and it’s a story people can relate to—of hard work and never giving up.”

He attributes his success to self-belief, declaring, “Self-belief has probably been my biggest strength throughout my career. No matter what, I’ve always pursued what I believed was right. Whether it was in training, matches, or addressing issues with teammates, I remained true to myself.”

Kane recalls his experiences during loan spells at Norwich and Leicester, where he faced skepticism from others while dedicating himself to extra training. “All those little moments made me who I am,” he reflects.

Moreover, Kane harbors aspirations of transitioning to the NFL as a kicker once he retires from professional football. He stated, “That’s at least something that I have in the back of my mind. I feel I have many years ahead of me as a footballer, but things can change quickly. As I approach the end of my football career, I might start practicing and consider pursuing it further. Achieving success in two different sports—soccer and football—would be something truly special.”

Currently, Kane is focused on Bayern Munich’s upcoming Bundesliga match against Hoffenheim, hoping to secure another victory in their title quest. Later that evening, he will likely enjoy Super Bowl LX from the comfort of his Bavarian home.
